Air Cooled Water Chiller


An air-cooled water chiller is a type of cooling system that uses ambient air to remove heat from water or other fluids. It is commonly used in various industrial, commercial, and residential applications to provide cooling for processes, equipment, or buildings.

The air-cooled water chiller works by circulating water through a refrigeration cycle that transfers heat from the water to the surrounding air. The chiller consists of several key components, including a compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and a fan.

The process starts with the compressor, which compresses the refrigerant gas, raising its temperature and pressure. The high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant then flows to the condenser, where it releases heat to the ambient air. The condenser typically consists of finned coils and a fan that blows air over the coils, facilitating heat transfer.

As the refrigerant cools down and condenses into a liquid, it flows to the expansion valve, which reduces its pressure. This pressure drop causes the refrigerant to evaporate and absorb heat from the water or fluid being cooled. The evaporator is responsible for this heat exchange process, and it consists of coils or plates through which the water flows.

Finally, the refrigerant, now in a gaseous state, returns to the compressor to repeat the cycle. The fan, located near the condenser, helps to enhance the heat transfer process by blowing air over the condenser coils, dissipating the heat into the surrounding environment.



Air-cooled water chiller unit uses the heat-absorbing medium (refrigerant) in the equipment to collect heat energy from the air, and through the heat exchanger, the cold water is rapidly warmed up and the cold air is discharged at the same time.
